My name is Elizabeth Rehfeld.
My husband Bob and I were inspired to create Bound4College after spending a year assisting our youngest daughter Rebecca searching for and applying to four year colleges. She is a bright, hardworking and creative girl, but was unable to succeed in the public school system due to learning issues. She had always been determined to go to college, but there were no resources to help students who weren’t achieving far above-average academic scores in high school. We were continuously told to send her to a junior college. She was accepted into Whittier College where she is happily pursuing her bachelor's degree.
In the course of that year, we discovered that there are hundred of colleges for intelligent and ambitious students who have struggled academically, but that there is virtually no help for these students to find their perfect match.
Bound4College has been created to help all students, who have the desire to further their education, be accepted into a four year college or university.
Liz Rehfeld
Elizabeth Rehfeld is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who received her Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Dominican University; 1990. She has taught multiple educational workshops specializing in seminars for parents of teen-agers. Liz earned her B.A. from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a double major in Theatre & English. In 1978 she returned to Fairleigh Dickinson as an instructor and director of Creative Drama and Children’s Theatre. She spent five years working in Human Resource Development before pursuing her psychology degree. Liz has been a Big Sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters for over ten years. She has voluntarily helped many children pursue their educational goals. Liz has spent the last three years researching colleges and universities throughout the country. Her experience as a counselor, educator, director, Big Sister, and mother of three has provided her with ideal skills to help high school students prepare for their future.
Bob Rehfeld
Bob Rehfeld's role with Bound4College is to ensure that the business aspects of the company run smoothly and efficiently to create a positive experience every step of the way.
Bob is a managing partner of a consulting firm specializing in processes that enable Fortune 500 clients to execute corporate strategy. Bob directs all aspects of the firm’s client services and operations. He is also a member of the Board of Directors.
Bob is an expert interpersonal skills trainer who specializes in sales and management reinforcement systems. His design and development work was instrumental in the successful development of many successful products for his firm.
Lani Bass
Lani Bass has been consulting with high school students for over ten years. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Community Studies and she received her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Orinda, CA. Lani began her work as a counselor at the John F. Kennedy Counseling Center in Oakland, CA where she specialized in working with adolescents. She continued her counseling at Terra Linda High School in Marin County, CA.
Lani’s most recent employment was at Jewish Family and Children’s Services in San Francisco where she served as their College and Career Coordinator. She consulted with and counseled Russian Émigré students hoping to attend four-year colleges and universities in the United States. She became proficient at assisting these students through the college application and financial aid process. Lani is extremely knowledgeable on all facets of college counseling, particularly in helping students and their families navigate their way through the complexities of the FAFSA, scholarships and financial aid packages. She is motivated and determined to support students in attending and affording the college of their dreams.
